Private Full Day Fátima, Nazaré & Óbidos Tour

Tour Description

Tour Activity Level: 2

A Sanctuary, churches galore, a scenic drive to a castle and a Ginjinha drink. Ready? This full day experience is filled with a variety of locations, activities and adventures.

Start it all off at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, where you can learn more about the history of the place and religion, as well as get spiritually rejuvenated by this renowned holy location. Make your way across the remarkable structures within the sanctuary grounds: from the tomb site of the three shepherd saints who witnessed the appearance of the Virgin Mary (in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary) to the fourth biggest Catholic church in the world (The Basilica of the Holy Trinity), and the calmest chapel that marks the spot of appearance by the Blessed Virgin Mary (The Chapel of Apparitions).

Afterwards, you will head to the gorgeous town of Nazare, where you can enjoy stunning views of the ocean while indulging in a classic Portuguese lunch.

With hunger out of your way, you will find yourself headed towards Obidos Castle, a Moorish traditional stone-walled medieval structure that rests atop a hill. The castle is still preserved in perfect conditions, and is open for visitors to walk in and experience the same views that historical royalty did. Finally, why not make the best out of your stay in Obidos and try a little of their world-famous Ginjinha. This alcoholic local product is made by infusing Ginja berries in alcohol, and mixing in some sugar and spice. It is a staple drink in this area of the country, and is often served in a chocolate cup.
