Pinhão

The village lies on the banks of the Douro River, making it an ideal destination for river cruises and scenic boat trips. Visitors can enjoy spectacular views of the vineyards, especially during the grape harvest season in late summer and early autumn, when the region comes alive with traditional winemaking activities. One of Pinhão's most iconic landmarks is its historic railway station, decorated with beautiful blue and white azulejo tiles that depict scenes of vineyard life and the history of the Douro wine region. The station is considered one of the most beautiful in Portugal. Pinhão is also home to several renowned wine estates, known locally as quintas, where visitors can taste world-famous Port wine and premium Douro table wines while learning about centuries-old winemaking traditions.
